The Big Opportunity's objectives:

Build

We want Third Sector groups to contribute significantly and positively to the planning, delivery and legacy of 2012. We want to:

Build a bridge between the Olympic delivery agencies, the public and private sectors and over 100,000 registered charities, community groups and social enterprises across London who can generate innovative initiatives for the 2012 challenge.

Our goals are to:

  • Build strong and open lines of communication between Olympic delivery agencies and the Third Sector, enabling good representation and collaborative decision-making
  • Build capacity and resources to make it easier for smaller Third Sector organisations to get involved
  • Build effectiveness and efficiency through encouraging good practice in engagement and consultation by Olympic contractors, using Compact principles and guidance from Think Smart Think Voluntary Sector, together with clear information and well thought-out plans
