The Big Opportunity's objectives:

Inspire

We want Third Sector groups to contribute significantly and positively to the planning, delivery and legacy of 2012. We want to:

Inspire and inform Third Sector organisations to help them deliver a valuable contribution to the Games and share benefits from a successful 2012 Games and legacy.

Our goals are to:

  • Inspire community leaders and others at a senior level to take part in outreach events and consultations, enabling communities to articulate their ideas and concerns directly to policy and decision-makers
  • Inspire a more diverse supplier base, and development of measures to deliver the London Business Club supplier diversity objectives to raise the percentage of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) suppliers winning Olympic contracts, through encouraging the Greater London Authority and London Councils to provide incentives
  • Inspire the public to recognise the role of community groups in 2012
